Man plans to bring free shotgun project to Indy

In May this year we ran an article about the Armed Citizen Project (ACP), describing the initial plans for giving away free shotguns to dozens of Texans, all to apply the theory that firearms can deter crime.
The project is now planning to extend to Indianapolis, in which one area of 400 homes suffered 107 home invasions last year. Some examples from there are quoted, the beginning being a home that was broken into and vandalized, belonging to 93 year old veteran Elbert Wood. The scheme is based on ensuring background checks and adequate training before any shotgun gifting is carried out.
